Your Prom

Getting ready for prom is an exciting time.  Expect to come for your first fitting at least a couple of months before prom to allow plenty of time and ensure you are relaxed, as you'll probably have exams around the same time.

We'll start with an initial consultation with you, your dress, shoes and underwear, if you have it. You're very welcome to bring someone with you to your fittings if you would like to.

You'll try your dress on in a private setting in my purpose built studio in Gedney Hill and we'll start by talking through the parts of your dress to be altered or adjusted.  I'll be happy to listen to your thoughts and any concerns.

Altered beaded prom dress - bodice

I'll start by looking in detail at the fit of the bodice, shoulders or straps and consider any adjustments.

We'll review the length of the skirt and discuss any changes to the length but we may leave making any such changes until the bodice adjustments have been completed, as these can affect the way the dress hangs.

If the dress needs to be shortened we will talk through the options for the length and shaping any the train at the back.

Alterations fitting -green layered prom dress

We'll agree the timing of your next fitting and you'll leave the dress with me while I carry out the work we've agreed on at that stage.  This would typically be 2 - 3 weeks. I'm flexible and can offer after school or Saturday  morning appointments if you are not able to come in the week.

At the next fitting you'll try the dress on again so that we can check the fit and look at any adjustments as well as any further work required.

Pricing and payment:

I charge based on £25 per hour and require payment up front for the work to be carried out at each stage.
